Heating, Ventilating, AC and Refrigeration
Objectives
The Heating, Ventilating, AC and Refrigeration program is designed for persons with or without previous training or experience in any of the climate control disciplines. The objective of the program is to provide the student with all entry-level skills with which he or she can obtain employment in the climate control industry.
The program includes a phase in computerized diagnostics covering commercial refrigeration, gas heat, heat pumps, and air conditioning. Students are provided the opportunity to take the Environmental Protection Agency's (EPA) Refrigerant Transition and Recovery Certification test. While EPA certification is not a requirement, virtually all contractors require it.
According to American Refrigeration Institute standards, we require our students take the industry Competency Exam (ICE). This credential is recognized throughout the climate control industry as a symbol of outstanding skill.
